The Hosts

Seth & Nancy

Happily hosting you are Nancy and Seth, who instantly knew in their souls that they were blessed to find this little slice of heaven the first time they crested that hill and saw the breathtaking setting of the log cabin down below. We hear over and over that pictures don't do it justice.

It was never our intention to share our beautiful log cabin home, but after persistent requests, we decided to offer this unique home to guests who genuinely seek the unparalleled experience of staying in a cozy and rugged, yet luxurious, hand-made log cabin set smack dab in the middle of all-natural nothingness (!) It's just a lovely, visceral change from the hustle and bustle we all blindly operate in on a daily basis in the cities or suburbia.

Guests frequently comment on how quiet it is here. After settling in, they soon begin to realize all the noise 'pollution' they are subjected to - sirens, angry car horns, anxious and angry drivers zipping in and out of traffic. Out here in the seclusion of the country, it's still natural prairies filled with deer crisscrossing the land, big birds competing for your catch and release fish at our two ponds, braying donkeys next door, bunnies showing up faithfully to eat our flowers, armadillos digging fresh holes in the ground at night - it's not the WILD west, but it is for SURE more wild than a city!

The best way to describe the log cabin is it is Perfectly Imperfect. It was created by hand, by the family that lived here. It's not from a kit. It's from blood, sweat and tears! We love all of the imperfections! Discover axe marks in the logs, old insect trails in the logs they harvested, a stunning two-story stone fireplace crafted from Oklahoma stones found right on the land. Electric and plumbing were only recently added when the brave remodelers took the log cabin back from nature and the animal gangs that called it home.

Additional options to stay on the land now available! Come out and get your zen on!

1. Adorable one bedroom *girly* cottage with a king bed in an open concept with a full kitchen - including gas cooktop! This cottage is named in honor of Nancy's sweet Grandmom Grace. Nancy uses her Grandmom's treasured doilies, collectibles and photos throughout the cottage as a nod to her Grandmom. In addition to the king bed, there is a pull-out futon, which is suitable for kids or light adults, there is NO dining room/area - guests gather at the island for coffee or a quick bite.

2. Our 2 bedroom *tree house* tucked away in the trees features a 60+ foot outside covered porch to sit with your beverage and watch nature - if you stay quiet, you can watch the deer walk blissfully unaware of you as they graze throughout the yard! Like line dancing? Grab your boots and hit the lonnnnng covered deck. With a breeze, it's blissful out there!  This two bedroom house offers a king and queen bed, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen and a breakfast bar for eating, living room seating for 4.
